JR window display at Foyles

Get a piece of JR's art at Foyles

An exclusive work by the French artist has just been installed in the window at the store's Charing Cross branch

His monochrome paste-ups have become a familiar sight on the favela rooftops of Brazil and the city blocks of New York, yet for a few days, London’s book-buying public will have the opportunity to see, and even take home, a piece JR’s art.

Earlier today the French artist, filmmaker and activist had one of his works installed in the window display at Foyles, the famous British bookshop on London’s Charing Cross Road.

JR had pasted one of his signature ‘eye’ photographs onto the spines of 442 copies of his new book, JR: Can Art Change The World, turning each edition into a beautifully altered collectors’ item.

Foyles has already sold a hundred or so orders, yet there are still a few available to customers at the shop’s Charing Cross branch, so get down there quick. Check back tomorrow for more news of JR in London, and find out more about his great new monograph here.

Pasted editions are also available exclusively from the Strand in NY and Swipe in Toronto, Canada.
