Artist David Shrigley has designed this year’s special edition ski lift passes for the Aspen Art Museum and the Aspen Skiing Company. The arrival of the new season's ski passes have become something to look forward to more than ever over the last eight years as the partners have commissioned innovatively designed passes from contemporary artists such as Peter Doig, Mark Grotjahn, Jim Hodges and Karen Kilimnik as part of their “Art in Unexpected Places” programme.

This year will also see a mural by Dave Muller adorn the interior of Elk Camp, a new restaurant on the resort's Snowmass Mountain. Shrigley's six designs guarantee that should he turn up in Aspen at any point this season he will get to ski free. Three guesses where David's going to be spending Christmas. . .
