Unseen photos on show in Amsterdam

New photo fair at former gasworks is a rare chance to buy unseen works by big name photographers

We can be pretty sure that you won't have seen any of the photographs in Amsterdam's Unseen Photo Fair before, unless you're a close friend of or the photographer yourself. That's because none of them have been shown publicly, ever. The new art fair which opens in Amsterdam this month aims to give first-time buyers a first foot on the ladder of photography collecting.

Unseen Photo Fair takes place in Amsterdam’s Westergasfabrieka a former gasworks from September 19-23 and features 50 galleries from around the world including London favourites as Flowers and the Photographers' Gallery as well as Magnum, New York's Danziger and M97 from Shanghai all showing previously unseen work by many of their photographers. These include our own much-loved Roger Ballen, Matthew Brandt and Alessandra Sanguinetti. Many of the galleries have donated to the Unseen collection, from which works will be sold for less than €1,000.
