Massimo moonlights as a barista at Eataly NY

Not really but our skinny Italian chef did surprise Lavazza drinkers at his book signing in New York!

Massimo Bottura took a moment out from his Bread Is Gold book signing tour to enjoy some great coffee at Eataly in New York at the weekend.

Osteria Francescana chef Massimo, who's on a whistle stop tour of east coast cities, giving talks and hosting book signings of made a moment to pose for our picture with a glinting copy of his new book Bread Is Gold.

After dropping in to Eataly, Massimo headed for Whole Foods Market in Williamsburg where he entertained a huge crowd of well wishers and fans - many of whom tucked into his olive oil and some really nutty cheese while they waited in line to get their books signed.

Store career development officer Phyllis Tritto (above) was the last person to get her book signed just before Massimo headed off for his dates in Chicago - news of which we'll bring you soon! Find out more about Bread Is Gold in the store here.
