Joel Meyerowitz features in Armani Paris Photo show
Legendary photographer's work part of exhibition celebrating fashion house's Acqua for Life campaign
Acclaimed photographer and Phaidon artist Joel Meyerowitz has some of his recent work exhibited in Giorgio Armani's forthcoming show, ACQUA #2, as part of next month's Paris Photo, (November 15 -18, Grand Palais, Avenue Winston Churchill).
The exhibition, the second in Armani's annual series, focuses on "the power of the fluid, [and] its vital energy." Giorgio himself made the selections, from a series of shots put forward by The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Amsterdam's Huis Marseille, and Switzerland's Winterthur, as well as other galleries at the fair.
ACQUA #2 is part of Mr Armani's ongoing Acqua for Life charitable work, which, in conjunction with Unicef, provides funds for sanitation in West Africa. So far, Acqua for Life has helped provide more than 52 million litres of drinkable water for the Green Cross International and its programmes in Ghana.
At the exhibition, Joel's work is joined by photographs from fellow Phaidon artists including the late, great Aaron Siskind and Alec Sloth as well as Marco Breuer, Anthony Friedkin, Dodo Jin Ming, Syoin Kajii, Shinichi Murayama, and Toshio Shibata.
