Art & Queer Culture on display in the windows of The Phluid Project, Manhattan

Art & Queer Culture is on show in the first gender-free store

Our primer on queer art takes pride of place in the windows at The Phluid Project, a new boutique in Manhattan

Quite a lot has changed since Art & Queer Culture was first published back in 2013. As co-author Richard Meyer acknowledges in his recent interview, “queers and the art they produce increasingly subvert traditional gender binaries of male and female.”

So, we’re very proud to see that The Phluid Project, the world’s first gender-free store, is featuring the new 2019 edition of our book in its window display throughout April.

This New York City concern describes itself as “a brand, movement, community and platform based on activism, executed through the lens of fashion,” and is situated in a prominent location, at 684 Broadway in Manhattan.

You can see the window display right now, and, in a few weeks' time, you’ll able to hear more from Richard; he’s hosting an event at The Phluid Project on 4 May. If you can’t wait until then, order a copy of Art & Queer Culture here, in our store.
