Come find us at Hudson Yards!
We’ve found the perfect place for Phaidon within New York City's new 28-acre mega-development
Hudson Yards is a big deal, even for a big city such as New York. “The whole 28-acre shebang will be bigger than the United Nations, the World Trade Center, or Rockefeller Center and physically vaster, more populous, and more expensive than any private development in the country,” explained Justin Davidson in a recent New York magazine cover story. The residential, retail and public space complex, opens next month on the western edge of Manhattan.
The project features major new works by Snarkitecture, Thomas Heatherwick and Diller Scofidio + Renfro among others, and Phaidon has also managed to find a place within it all.
Book lovers should look out for us in the Conservatory, an innovative new venture that will offer high fashion and tabletop-object brands alongside a wide range of Phaidon titles. Here, shoppers can browse through our books then delivered to their home address. – say goodbye to bulky shopping bags!
Art and design aficionados should check out Forty Five Ten, the first NYC outlet for a Dallas-based designer boutique, which will stock our contemporary art titles alongside cutting edge fashion.
Neiman Marcus, a luxury department store chain, will open its first New York venture in Hudson Yards too; come here to find out more about our new Interiors book, and maybe even snag a signed copy of Annie Leibovitz at Work.
And foodies should definitely take in Mercado Little Spain, a new Spanish food hall created by José Andrés in collaboration with Ferran and Albert Adrià; aside from excellent Iberian cuisine, this place will also offer great cookbooks including The The Book of Tapas of Tapas (Andrés wrote the foreword), A Day at elBulli, and elBulli 2005–2011.
Can’t wait until next month? Then you can always buy all these books and many more via our own store.
