Phaidon Minis and Compacts – the one size that fits all!

Petite but polished? Diminutive and delightful, perhaps? Neat and nifty, even? There are many ways you could describe our newly launched Minis and Compacts series of books.

But perhaps we prefer something a little more prosaic – compact and 100% complete. Because these are the full versions of our most-loved titles, sized down for small apartments and slightly squeezed budgets, but no less exquisite than their bigger brother and sister titles. And we’re releasing four of our most-loved titles in each category this Spring.

The minis measure 16 by 12 centimetres, while the compacts are slightly larger, measuring 190cms x 16cms. With the minis, we’re kicking things off with four iconic Phaidon titles.

The Garden Book - A fully updated, beautifully illustrated A-to-Z of 500 legendary garden-makers, from all corners of the globe. It’s a rich, visual celebration of gardens as an art form.

The Art Book - This revised edition features 600 artists from medieval to modern times. It’s sold over 2 million copies, published in 22 languages, and remains the go-to guide for art lovers everywhere.

ConcreteBold, stylish, and packed with over 300 photographs, this title showcases projects by Le Corbusier, Zaha Hadid, and many more. From cultural icons like the Guggenheim to power stations and penguin pools.

Brick - A stunning journey through 180 iconic brick structures, from ancient ziggurats to works by Mies van der Rohe and Kazuyo. An inspiring visual tribute to the world’s most humble building block.

Each book is designed to both inspire and surprise anyone lucky enough to receive one. Yes, they make the perfect present and are an affordable introduction to the wonderful world of Phaidon books.

Meanwhile, expanding things – but only just a little – we’re launching four titles in our new compact series in which each book measures 190cms x 16cms.

As with the minis, we’re kicking things off with four iconic Phaidon titles now in compact size.

Great Women Artists - Great Women Artists is the most extensive illustrated survey on women artists ever published. This essential volume reflects an era where art made by women is more visible than ever. The book features more than 400 artists from 50 countries around the world, representing each with a beautifully reproduced full-page artwork and a short illuminating text about its creator.

Living in Color: Color in Contemporary Design - This inspirational visual journey along the colour spectrum features 200 interiors from 130 designers in a vibrant variety of hues, from the purest white to the deepest black, from the hottest pinks, oranges, and reds to the coolest greens and tranquil blues.

Plant: Exploring the Botanical World - This visually stunning survey from Phaidon’s Explorer series celebrates the extraordinary beauty and diversity of plants. It combines photographs and cutting-edge micrograph scans with paintings, drawings, and prints, to bring this universally popular and captivating subject vividly to life.

Flower: Exploring the World in Bloom - Flower invites readers to explore the endless ways artists and image-makers have employed floral motifs throughout history. In its sleek compact format, this critically acclaimed survey showcases more than 300 gorgeous large-scale images representing a range of styles and media – from fine art, botanical illustrations, and sculptures to floral arrangements, film stills, and fabric designs.
