If you're not already a follower of @PutnamFlowers we urge you to go there immediately (actually, after you've finished reading this).

Michael and Darroch Putnam's instagram account is one of the liveliest, most colourful, fascinating (and envy inducing) out there!

Their bio correctly states that they are the authors of the very fine Flower Color Guide but it also carries the mission statement Flowers Inspired by Romance. So who better to turn to for Valentine's Day bloom guidance than Darroch and Mikey? We gave them a quick call on your behalf.

They swiftly came up with the beautiful display above which should give anyone inspiration for just what to buy tomorrow.

"Darroch told us that he "chose these heirloom varieties for their unique colour variegation and stem gesture." And Mikey added: "They are all delicate and truly embody romance." Stick to their suggestion tomorrow and you won't go far wrong.

But if you're looking to bring a few more florals into your life beyond Valentine's Day check out Flower Color Guide and the forthcoming Blooms.

We'll be bringing you some Valentine displays from the floral artists in that book tomorrow.
