Artspace is proud to announce a new series of 30 hand-painted unique editions by painter Doron Langberg: Oren and Bennet, 2022.

Oren and Bennet (2022) is the artist's first-ever series of its kind and closely follows his 2021 solo exhibition Give Me Love at Victoria Miro in London. Doron Langberg is hailed by critics for his prominent voice and idiosyncratic approach to figuration. Langberg’s paintings are known for their luminous colors, fluid gestures, and intimate subjects that together bridge the legacies of painters such as Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard with contemporary depictions of queer culture.

Hand-painted with energetic brushstrokes and splatters of acrylic, this new body of work beckons empathy through our sense of touch, introducing humanity and intimacy to themes of queer sensuality. Proceeds from the sale of this series will be donated to support Visual AIDS, a New York-based nonprofit that utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting HIV+ artists, and preserving a legacy, because AIDS is not over.

Langberg is considered one of the vanguard artists working in his field today, among peers such as Jennifer Packer, Louis Fratino, and Salman Toor. Working directly from life, the artist draws much of his inspiration from a personal constellation of family, friends, and lovers.

Doron Langberg received his MFA from Yale University School of Art and holds a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Langberg has attended the EFA Studio Program, Sharpe Walentas Studio Program, Yaddo artist residency, and the Queer Art Mentorship Program. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters John Koch award for painting, the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, and the Yale Schoelkopf Travel Prize. In the spring of 2022, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston will feature Langberg’s work in the major group exhibition A Place for Me: Figurative Painting Now (2022). Work by the artist was recently on view at RISD Museum, Providence, Rhode Island, and at The Frick Collection’s temporary residence at Frick Madison, NYC. Doron Langberg is represented by Victoria Miro.

All our frames are manufactured in the USA, using eco-friendly and sustainably sourced engineered hardwood for durability and a uniform finish that is free of defects. Frames are available in Black or White Satin and Honey Pecan.

All prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Alpha Cellulose matboard, using an acid-free linen tape. The mat's surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conservation quality foam-core mounting board that will keep the work safe from deterioration over time. Artworks with a deckled or decorative edges will be floated on the matboard, with acrylic spacers to separate the art from the glazing. All mounting is fully reversible, without any potential damage to the art.

All of our frames come with picture quality .090 mm plexiglass, which blocks 66% of UV to prevent color fading from exposure to light, keeping your art protected for years to come. It is now considered the industry standard for artists, museums and galleries throughout the world.

For images up to 30" x 40"
