James Irvine honoured at Salon del Mobile
The late, great product designer’s monograph gets a custom-made display unit, and its on show in Milan
We at Phaidon were honoured to have worked with James Irvine, the influential British-born, Milan-based furniture and product designer James Irvine who died in 2013.
We publish the designer’s definite monograph next week and to mark its publication and the Salone del Mobile show in Milan, Irvine’s design practice, Studio Irvine, has produced this striking new stand for the edition.
The four-legged, waist-high book holder is on show at some of the late designer's favourite venues throughout Milan over the next few days. If you're in the city, look out for it at Danese, Bar Basso, Marsotto Edizioni, 10 Corso Como, Pasticceria Cucchi and the Cappellini showroom. Feel free to browse, and if you like what you see, you can order a copy of the book here.
