30 years, 100 artists: The Contemporary Artists Series Anniversary Collection
Launched in 1995, Phaidon’s Contemporary Artists Series is the longest-running book series dedicated to contemporary art. In honor of the series’ 30th anniversary, we are proud to offer a limited-edition collection exclusive to Phaidon.com.
The Anniversary Collection features all 100 Contemporary Artists Series monographs, including rare and out-of-print volumes specially sourced from Phaidon’s archives. Only three of these complete collections are available.
Described by Artforum as ‘the boldest, best executed, and most far-reaching publishing project devoted to contemporary art,’ this groundbreaking series of monographs features the greatest contemporary artists of our time, with contributions from leading critics, curators, and writers.
Each book is created in close collaboration with the artist and features newly commissioned texts from critics, curators, and fellow artists, as well as interviews, studio photography, and rarely seen archival material. Thoughtfully created and beautifully designed, these monographs offer a rare and revealing portrait of the artists’ practice, studio, and life.
