On March 11, 2002, six months after the World Trade Center attacks, two beams of light rose into the night sky from a site just north of Ground Zero in honor of those lost on September 11th and in celebration of the spirit of all the New Yorkers who worked to rebuild and renew the City. The public art installation, Tribute in Light, has now become a permanent addition to the WTC Memorial and is illuminated every September 11th, projecting light four miles into the sky.

The creative team for the original Tribute included artists Julian LaVerdiere and Paul Myoda, architects John Bennet, Gustavo Bonevardi, and Richard Nash Gould, and lighting designer Paul Marantz. Non-profit cultural institutions, Creative Time and the Municipal Art Society, provided production support with assistance from Battery Park City Authority.

These limited edition renderings by LaVerdiere and Myoda served as conceptual designs and plans for Tribute in Light, capturing the visual and emotional impact of the installation.

Julian LaVerdiere is an artist and production designer living and working in New York City. In 1996 he founded a production design company, Julian LaVerdiere Design Ltd, to conceive and engineer elaborate environments, sets, and special effects for print advertising, public events, commercial television, and Feature Films. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums including Deitch Projects, Lehmann Maupin Gallery, MOCA Miami, MOCA Cleveland, PSI/MOMA, the United Nations, and the Library of Congress.

Paul Myoda's sculptures, drawings, and videos have been shown in more than 50 national and international exhibitions. From 1990—1996 he was based in New York City, where he co-founded an art production company, Big Room, and served as adjunct professor at the City College of New York. He has written for art publications including Art in America, Flash Art, and Frieze. Since 2006 he has been based in Rhode Island, where he is an assistant professor teaching sculpture and new media in the Visual Art Department at Brown University. His series of interactive sculptures, Glittering Machines, was exhibited at the Dorsch Gallery in Miami in 2011.

In September 2001, LaVerdiere and Myoda collaborated, along with a team of architects and public art organizations including Creative Time and the Municipal Arts Society, to create Tribute in Light, a light memorial for the victims of the World Trade Center collapse. Tribute in Light has since become an annual installation. To learn more about Tribute in Light, please visit www.tributeinlight.com.

All our frames are manufactured in the USA, using eco-friendly and sustainably sourced engineered hardwood for durability and a uniform finish that is free of defects. Frames are available in Black or White Satin and Honey Pecan.

All prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Alpha Cellulose matboard, using an acid-free linen tape. The mat's surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conservation quality foam-core mounting board that will keep the work safe from deterioration over time. Artworks with a deckled or decorative edges will be floated on the matboard, with acrylic spacers to separate the art from the glazing. All mounting is fully reversible, without any potential damage to the art.

All of our frames come with picture quality .090 mm plexiglass, which blocks 66% of UV to prevent color fading from exposure to light, keeping your art protected for years to come. It is now considered the industry standard for artists, museums and galleries throughout the world.
