A fully illustrated exploration of the world’s most extraordinary contemporary homes, featuring the work of Tadao Ando, John Pawson, Kazuyo Sejima, Zaha Hadid, and other iconic architects alongside exciting emerging names

Atlas of Twenty-First Century Houses is a landmark survey of contemporary residential architecture across the globe. Featuring 400 innovative houses across more than 75 countries – from Mexico to Morocco, Brazil to Belgium, and Jordan to Japan – it offers an unparalleled journey through the homes that define the twenty-first century.

Organized geographically as a global atlas, this strikingly designed, large-format book invites readers to explore how architects in different regions respond to the unique conditions of place – from climate, landscape, and local materials to cultural traditions and urban density.

Together, these houses reveal the remarkable diversity of contemporary architecture, while highlighting the shared challenges and opportunities shaping the homes of today. From remote desert retreats and tropical coastal residences to ingenious urban dwellings and innovative mountain homes, each project has been selected for its architectural excellence, originality, and relevance to the way we live now.

Richly illustrated with exceptional photography and accompanied by concise, insightful texts, the book showcases both celebrated projects from some of the biggest names in contemporary architecture and lesser-known gems from around the world.

Presented in a large format with a sleek acetate jacket, Atlas of Twenty-First Century Houses is both an inspirational resource and essential reference for architects, designers, students, and anyone fascinated by outstanding contemporary homes.
