A strikingly designed exploration of the work of the influential French designer Pierre Paulin – from his iconic Dune sofa and Ribbon chair to his innovative interiors – and its enduring resonance with a new generation of artists, rappers, celebrities, and athletes

Pierre Paulin created unexpected interior designs that proposed a radical new way of living. Now, more than 50 years after his time at the cutting edge of mid-century design, his work has become a reference point for a new generation of creatives, tastemakers, and talent through Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, an independent family project established to activate, preserve, and develop his vision for a new generation. The project was initiated by Maïa Paulin, the designer’s wife and partner for nearly forty years, and is now run by her son Benjamin and daughter-in-law Alice.

Paulin Paulin Paulin is a richly illustrated celebration of the avant-garde designer’s past, present, and future. Conceived by the Paulin family, the book combines texts by leading cultural figures and design critics with selected special projects – from furniture designs for Artifort and Herman Miller to special projects with Rick Rubin, OMA, and Travis Scott – illuminating why this historic innovator remains a contemporary cultural phenomenon.

More than 350 images range from sketches, prototypes, and family snapshots to photographs of contemporary cultural creators interacting with the world of Paulin. Two dynamic photo-essays open and close the book: the first, a sumptuous flick through the Paulin archives, and the second, a dynamic reflection of the trend-setting talent who surround themselves with his work today, including Justin Bieber, FKA twigs, and more.

Boldly designed and beautifully produced, Paulin Paulin Paulin is a source of inspiration for design students and professionals, cultural aficionados, and anybody intrigued by alternative ways of living with interiors.

Benjamin and Alice Paulin are the son and daughter-in-law of Pierre Paulin and the co-founders of the furniture company dedicated to his work, Paulin, Paulin, Paulin.
