Every Tree in Town is a series that documents every spruce tree in the old mill town of Willimantic, Connecticut. The series of 1017 photographs was created as Matthew Jensen systematically walked the 89 miles of streets within the city limits and documented some 2187 trees. The trees in the series are cultural artifacts from the town's industrial past and the Victorian-era immigrant population who came from Northern Europe, where the trees are native. Today, Willimantic's population is a third of what it was in its heyday, and the pervasive trees remain as the last living link to the past. The series was featured on the front of the Hartford Courant and was curated by the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art for an exhibition in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Matthew López-Jensen is an environmental artist known for his expansive projects about landscape and place. He was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in Photography in 2016 for Park Wonder, his multi-disciplinary exploration of landscapes in Northern New Jersey.

The relationship between technology and landscape is an ongoing meditation in many of his works, such as The 49 States (2008), the first-ever photographic series made on a "virtual road trip" across the United States. The series was acquired and exhibited by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art. Subsequent series such as Traffic Cam Sunrise (2014) and Remember Moonlight (2018) also reveal how technological shifts have transformed our relationship to the landscape.

López-Jensen's site-specific projects and artist walks have been commissioned and exhibited for a range of venues such as Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Queens Museum, the High Line, Open Spaces Kansas City, and Kenpoku Arts in Ibaraki, Japan.

All our frames are manufactured in the USA, using eco-friendly and sustainably sourced engineered hardwood for durability and a uniform finish that is free of defects. Frames are available in Black or White Satin and Honey Pecan.

All prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Alpha Cellulose matboard, using an acid-free linen tape. The mat's surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conservation quality foam-core mounting board that will keep the work safe from deterioration over time. Artworks with a deckled or decorative edges will be floated on the matboard, with acrylic spacers to separate the art from the glazing. All mounting is fully reversible, without any potential damage to the art.

All of our frames come with picture quality .090 mm plexiglass, which blocks 66% of UV to prevent color fading from exposure to light, keeping your art protected for years to come. It is now considered the industry standard for artists, museums and galleries throughout the world.
