This limited-edition basketball by artist Tyson Reeder was produced as a collaboration between Artspace and The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA). The work is inspired by Reeder’s participation in a group exhibition at General Store in which artists were asked to submit works created using only a four color pen—a retractable ball point pen that clicks between blue, black, red and green. The distinctive work will debut for sale on May 5th online and at the 2016 NADA New York fair, and proceeds from the sales will support the organization.

Chicago-based artist and curator Tyson Reeder works in a multitude of mediums, from more traditional painting and video to elaborate site-specific installations, performative spaces and interactive collaborations. His dramatically colorful paintings, which he frequently creates "en plein air" feature landscapes, everyday objects and clashing pastel patterns, sometimes incorporating pop culture and hip hop references. At once eclectic and irreverent, Reeder's work mines the depths of art history and contemporary experience, bringing parody to Fauvist inspired formalism.

Reeder has shown in solo exhibitions at CANADA, New York, Daniel Reich, New York, The Green Gallery, Milwaukee, Office Baroque, Brussels, Belgium, Jack Hanley Gallery, Los Angeles and Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, New York. His group exhibitions include Shane Campbell, Chicago, Museum of Modern Art Library, New York, Foxy Production, New York and David Zwirner, New York.

In addition to his individual practice, Reeder has also become known for his curatorial projects with his sister-in-law Elysia Borowy-Reeder and brother Scott Reeder—their storefront Milwaukee gallery General Store curated the now-infamous "Drunk vs. Stoned" group exhibitions at Gavin Brown's Enterprise. The trio's most recent project is entitled Club Nutz: a pop up performance space that welcomes comedy, art, music, lectures, and absurdity. Since its inception adjacent to Green Gallery in Milwaukee, the Reeders have taken Club Nutz to Frieze Art Fair in London, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and Salon 94 in New York, among others.

All our frames are manufactured in the USA, using eco-friendly and sustainably sourced engineered hardwood for durability and a uniform finish that is free of defects. Frames are available in Black or White Satin and Honey Pecan.

All prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Alpha Cellulose matboard, using an acid-free linen tape. The mat's surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conservation quality foam-core mounting board that will keep the work safe from deterioration over time. Artworks with a deckled or decorative edges will be floated on the matboard, with acrylic spacers to separate the art from the glazing. All mounting is fully reversible, without any potential damage to the art.

All of our frames come with picture quality .090 mm plexiglass, which blocks 66% of UV to prevent color fading from exposure to light, keeping your art protected for years to come. It is now considered the industry standard for artists, museums and galleries throughout the world.

For images up to 30" x 40"
