The Design Museum's residency, now in its fourth year, is an open call exhibition which supports designers at an early stage in their career. This year's Designers in Residence are Hye-Yeon Park, Jade Folawiyo, Simon Hasan and Will Shannon who will be building on their existing design practice and developing their work.

Athough still in the early stages of their careers, all four designers are already thriving. Hassan is currently working for Casa Fendi and Folawiyo has shown work at Design Miami. Shannon worked as studio assistant to Anthony Gormley prior to starting at the Royal College of Art and Park's In-Betweening Clock received a nomination at this years Design of the Year Awards.

For this year's residency, the designers will be taking on the idea of imperfection in an object, environment or experience and responding to the theme essentially using very basic materials - leather, chipboard, rusty metals and time to challenge the space and the visitors perceptions.

Park's Mr Clock displays ever-changing digital configurations of time, until someone stands in front of it, then it tells the correct time. Shannon's Autonomous Workplace no004: Mobile Chipboard Factory aims to create new products from unwanted furniture while Folawiyo will explore new approaches to forgotten traditional crafts, experimenting with the tarnishing and rusting of metals, and Hassan's leather work will evolve throughout the exhibition space.
