As the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York came to an close this week, sixteen designers were celebrated as winners of the 2011 ICFF Editors Awards. One of the 100 designers featured in &Fork was amongst the successful exhibitors: Tom Dixon, selected as one of the best contemporary designers in Phaidon's book &Fork, can pull up a Roll table, relax in a Cast chair and bask in the glow of an Etch bulb, having been chosen as the winner for the 'Best Booth' award at the fair.

The ICFF gathered some of the industry’s top design editors from publications such as Interni, Azure, Abitare, Interior Design, Dwell, Intramuros and Metropolis to judge the exhibitors. The best designers were selected in sixteen categories including Craftsmanship, Furniture, Lighting, New Designer and Best Booth. After a weekend of impressive designs, the awards ceremony took place Monday night (16 May) at the ICFF Exhibitors reception at New York City’s Javits Convention Center.

Herman Miller Retail’s Eames Aluminium Group also triumphed, winning the Outdoor Furniture category. The Eames Aluminium Group Management Chair is currently on display alongside a disassembled version at Phaidon’s New York store to celebrate Jonathan Olivares's A Taxonomy of Office Chairs. Although the ICFF is over for this year, you can still see the Eames chair installation and a window display charting the evolution of the base of chairs at Phaidon's New York store until the end of the month.
