One of our favourite experiences at the recent London Design Festival was lounging around on the The Bouroullec Brothers’ Textile Field. We weren’t alone and the installation has inspired a number of videos - one from our friends at Kvadrat who created the fabric strips which made the installation such a hit. You can view their behind the scenes footage shot while setting up above.

If that’s whetted your appetite for all things Bouroullec you’ll be pleased to hear the brothers have a major retrospective opening at the Shiguru Ban-designed Centre Pompidou-Metz, in Lorraine, France this Friday.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Bivouac is curated by Hélène Guenin, deputy–director of the Programme Pole at Centre Pompidou-Metz, and Laurent Le Bon, director of the institution. More than 1,000m2 will be dedicated to works, research and models by the Brittany-born designers.

Meanwhile, Ronan and Erwan have found time inbetween all this activity to finish their second book for Phaidon. It’s out in the New Year and you can pre-order it here as well as buy their first while stocks last here.
