Is it safe to order online?
Phaidon.com is a secure website. This means that every time you enter an area which has, or requires you to provide, personal details, a small locked padlock will appear in the bottom bar of your browser window to indicate this. We realise the importance of data security, and thus we do our utmost to protect the information which you provide. Our site uses high-level SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology, the most advanced security software currently available for online transactions, allowing you to shop in safety. SSL encodes all of your personal information (credit card details, name, address, password etc.) as it travels through the internet, so that it cannot be read by anyone other than the secure server.
What type of cards do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Maestro, Solo, Switch, Visa Delta and Electron. We will debit the account you specify before despatching the goods. We do not accept cash, cheques or postal orders.
Does Phaidon.com store my payment card details?
Phaidon.com doesn’t store your payment card details, but the site does allow customers to use a card that has been authorized on the site within the last year without having to re-enter the card details.
We do this by sending details of the previous transaction to our payment provider (DataCash) along with the new transaction, instead of the card details. The payment provider locates the earlier transaction and uses the card details from it to submit another authorisation request to your bank. This means we do not need to store your card details on our system and you don’t need to re-enter them every time you purchase from Phaidon.com.
In which currency will my credit card be billed?
You will be billed in the currency associated with your billing address which will be one of the following five currencies:

The payment will be made in real time using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
Will my purchase be taxed?
Order being shipped to Canada, Australia and some states in the USA will incur an additional sales tax.
