The internationally-acclaimed RGB wallpaper series by Carnovsky collective is currently on display in Berlin’s Johanssen Gallery. Inspired by Virgil’s classical poem ‘Moretum’, the wallpaper was created for an Italian wallpaper manufacturer Jannelli & Volpi and originally showcased as part of Milan Design Week earlier this year.

RGB by Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla, the duo behind Carnovsky, features a series of three overlapping layers of motifs in red, green and blue. The gothic patterns blend together, the colours commingle and the shapes alter projecting an eerie and enigmatic image. Each of the three layers can be read separately through a coloured filter.
