Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans consists of 32 large format (5.1m x 4.1m) canvases, each depicting a different Campbell Soup flavour. Often cited as one of the works that helped turn Pop Art into a major art movement, it also brought Warhol to the forefront.

At the time William McFarland was product marketing manager at Campbell’s Soup and in 1964 he decided to write to Warhol to thank him; he also sent him a couple of cases of soup.

Although short, this letter is a wonderful and quirky insight to the time when Warhol's status as an artist was on the rise.
