Arne Jacobsen dissolved the boundaries between architecture, interior and industrial design, contributing greatly to the development of Functionalism in architecture and the Danish modern style. His own villa in Charlottenlund, Denmark, is the first example of International Functionalism's influence on his work and has now been a source of inspiration for Danish company Minimii who have created a small scale reproduction of Jacobsen's house - which is only a sixteenth of the original size - for seriously design conscious children.

Minimii was founded by Linda Stenberg, who started the company to fill the gap in the market for modern doll houses, an alternative to the more ubiquitous American and Victorian doll houses.

The Arne Jacobsen 1:16 House closely replicates details of the original, right down to the red frontdoor with circular window. To furnish the mini Jacobsen house, Minimii have also made miniature versions of Jacobsen's furniture designs, including the 7 Series chairs, which made headlines with the help of model Christine Keeler of the notorious Profum Affair, in a photograph taken by Lewis Morley, causing an exponential increase in sales.

Minimii designers Stenberg and Claus Hojer Hansen, are also currently collaborating with the famous doll makers Maileg to create a chic and design savvy doll family to live in the house.
