Der Rote Bulli: Stephen Shore and the New Düsseldorf Photography
How one man's work came to influence a generation of European photographers
We take a look at some of the works on show at the exhibition Der Rote Bulli: Stephen Shore and the New Düsseldorf photography, which focuses on the transatlantic relationship between Stephen Shore and the European photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher, and their influence on the photographers working in the 1970s and '80s. As well as juxtaposing works by students on Becher's course with Shore's own photographs, the show provides comprehensive documentation of the emergence of the New Düsseldorf Photography movement.
