Massimo Bottura's on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week!

And to whet your appetite, here's what happened when René Redzepi appeared on the show in November

We have to confess that we loved our skinny Italian chef Massimo Bottura's address at Gastronomika earlier today. So we're really looking forward to seeing him on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week.

Now, Kimmel's guests have included (deep breath): Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise, Halle Berry, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Aniston, Will Ferrell, Katy Perry, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, George Clooney, Larry David, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Kobe Bryant, Steve Carell, Hugh Jackman, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Garner, Ryan Gosling, Bryan Cranston, Jamie Foxx, Amy Poehler, Ben Affleck, Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal, Oprah, and Matt Damon - to name but a few. So there's no real pressure Massimo!

And so to get you in the mood we thought we'd link to this great segment from a show last November featuring Idris Elba and our own René Redzepi - "Redzepi and Elba - sounds like a cop show on TNT!" says Jimmy as they all get together to cook chocolate pork skins.

Kimmel, of course, is initially suspicious, saying "They don't look delicious, I'll be honest with you. This one has a tattoo on it!" However his advice for staying at the top of the World's 50 Best Restaurant list - a coup René pulled off magnificently in April is seemingly foolproof:

"I would put a rat in the other restaurant - and restaurants burn down sometimes, that's the other thing!" As it was, René didn't need to resort to such underhand tactics!

Massimo Bottura is the chef patron of Osteria Francescana, a three Michelin star restaurant based in Modena, Italy. Massimo grew up in Modena and developed an interest in cooking from a young age after watching his mother, grandmother and aunt in the kitchen preparing family meals. In 1986 he left a law degree to open his first restaurant and subsequently went on to develop his love of food with stages for Alain Ducasse at Louis XV in Monte Carlo and Ferran Adriá at elbulli. He opened Osteria Francescana in 1995.
