Dita Von Teese hologram at the Design Museum

Design Museum's holographic Louboutin homage

Retrospective on shoe designer Christian Louboutin includes hologram of burlesque performer Dita Von Teese

It seems that you’re nobody these days until you’ve had a hologram made of you. Last month deceased rapper Tupac Shakur was resurrected at the Coachella music festival in California via a holographic effect. Now, the glamorous creations of shoe designer Christian Louboutin are shown off with an in-house hologram of Burlesque icon Dita Von Teese at London’s Design Museum. The performer famously wears Louboutin’s red-soled shoes for her exotic performances.

The retrospective at the Design Museum celebrates 20 years of Louboutin’s career with over 200 shoes, material from his personal archive and the Dita Von Teese hologram. This teaser video shot by the museum shows a few highlights from the French Designer’s collections, sketchbooks and drawings that will be on show, as well as the planning and preparation process of the exhibition itself - accented, of course, with the iconic red hue. You’ll also catch a quick preview of Dita in her holographic glory as her garments seemingly vanish into thin air. Christian Louboutin is at the Design Museum until July 9.
