JR is coming to the Tribeca Film Festival!

The brilliant French artist premiers his short film at the New York City festival next month

We already knew, thanks to JR’s Instragram account that the French artist was on good terms with Robert De Niro. Now we learn he has a short in the forthcoming Tribeca Film Festival, (April 15-26) which De Niro co-founded in New York City in 2002.

Les Bosquets is an adaptation of two separate projects, which JR has developed into a short movie, which will receive its world premier at the festival in next month. The film draws heavily from his 2014 collaboration with the New York City Ballet, also entitled Les Bosquets, yet it takes inspiration from JR’s earlier series, Portrait of a Generation, which focused on the French citizens of the Montfermeil suburb of Paris, around the time of the 2005 riots.

If you're lucky enough to be in New York it sounds like a compelling new project from an artist who is always extending his practice. Find out more about the film here, and check back soon for news about our forthcoming JR monograph.
