About the author

Paul Hill is a writer on photography and lecturer on the life and work of Eadweard Muybridge.

Cuauhtémoc Medina is a critic, art historian and was Curator of Contemporary at the Carrillo Gil Museum, Mexico City from 1989 to 1992.

Luc Sante is author of Low Life, Evidence and The Factory of Facts, frequent contributor to the New York Review of Books and visiting professor in the photography and writing departments of Bard College, New York.

Chris Johnson is a professor of photography at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Chair of the Oakland Cultural Affairs Commission and Director of the Mother Jones International Fund for Documentary Photography.

Barbara Bullock-Wilson is a writer and editor. She frequently consults on the photography of her parents, Wynn and Edna Bullock, and has written several books on their work.

Jeff Rian is a writer and professor at the École des Beaux-Arts, Nîmes. He is an editor of Purple magazine and the author of The Buckshot Lexicon (2000). He regularly contributes to Art in America and Flash Art.
